Maintenance updates

Occasionally the software is updated to introduce minor improvements. The resulting updated version is offered to licensed clients as a so-called maintenance update (or maintenance release) that can be downloaded here. At the time of purchase of a license always the latest available version is put on the client's CDROM. You should check the release date of your present edition in order to see if you need to download and install the current maintenance update.

MapQTL ® 6      (release of 17 February 2010)

You can check the release date of your copy of MapQTL 6 using the Build number that is shown in the Help-menu's About box and compare that to the Build numbers in the MapQTL 6 Release Notes. If you possess a purchased MapQTL 6 license and the release date of your copy of MapQTL 6 is prior to the release date mentioned above, you can download and install the maintenance update and re-install your individual license.

Instructions for download and installation of the maintenance update

  1. To download the evaluation copy installer (size: ~7 MB):
    authorization code
    (Refresh image)
    enter the eight characters shown in the image:
    and click the button:

  2. save this file in a temporary directory as 'MQ6setup.exe';
  3. run the 'MQ6setup.exe' installation program and follow instructions;
  4. start MapQTL 6 through the MS-Windows Start menu or by double clicking the desktop icon;
    (the program may be launched through the installer)
  5. re-install your individual license from your CDROM using the Help-menu function 'Install License'.
    (Your individual license should be in the 'Licenses' directory of the CDROM you obtained from Kyazma.)

MapQTL 5      (last maintenance release of 23 July 2008)

If you possess a purchased MapQTL 5 license and the Build number your copy of MapQTL 5 is different from '23jul08.7apr08', then you should download and install the maintenance update and re-install your individual license.

To download the evaluation copy installer of the last maintenance release of MapQTL 5 (size: ~8 MB):
enter the eight characters shown in the image above:
and click the button:


Put 'MQ5setup.exe' in a temporary directory, run this installation program and follow instructions. Re-install your individual license from your CDROM using the Help-menu function 'Install License'.

MapQTL 4.0      (last maintenance release of 6 May 2002)

If you possess a purchased MapQTL 4.0 license and the Build number your copy of MapQTL 4.0 is different from '6may02.25mar02', then you should download and install the maintenance update and re-install your individual license.

To download the evaluation copy installer of the last maintenance release of MapQTL 4.0 (size: ~4 MB):
enter the eight characters shown in the image above:
and click the button:


Put 'MqInstal.exe' in a temporary directory, running it will unpack into a subdirectory 'MapQTL', which will contain the installation program 'setup.exe'.
